I just use the motor oil that mechanics use on the savage - which is an oil made for a 4-cycle engine. You can pick it up for 2.50 a quart at a dealership. It just says "motor oil for 4-stroke engines" on it and does not designate whether or not it should be used in motorcycle or not - can't think of any cars with four-stroke engines off top of my head... but it's cheap and best to play it safe - specially when it's really on a dollar or two difference.
